Job description
MYRRHA will be the world’s first sub-critical particle accelerator-driven reactor, cooled by a lead-bismuth eutectic. Our main mission is to build MYRRHA and use it as a research reactor. But there’s still a lot of work to be done, such as constructing MINERVA – the project’s first phase that consists of a particle accelerator and its target facilities. For the construction of MINERVA, we are looking for a leader of the Control System group (ICS). In this position, you are responsible for the design, development, implementation and commissioning of the MINERVA control and safety systems (= Integrated Control System ICS). Your duties are:
- assisting in defining the operational/safety concepts of the MINERVA project in terms of ICS implementation
- integrating accelerator and Proton Target Facility elements into MINERVA ICS.
- collaboration with other Minerva and SCK CEN groups and national/international collaborations to define the requirements for the design and implementation of MINERVA ICS.
- management of in-house personnel for the development of MINERVA ICS.
- managing subcontractors to implement the development of MINERVA ICS
- responsible for ICS project management, project planning, cost and schedule management, scope and task management and project communication with other groups and subcontractors.
- defining the distribution of workload among group members, offering support and ensuring the delivery of results within agreed timelines
- reporting on project status
Job requirements
- master’s degree or higher in the field of software engineering or equivalent.
- experience as product owner and/or scrum master in agile projects.
- experience with SW/HW integration of accelerator components/front-end controllers
- experience with SW environments like EPICS
- you are a team player and able to manage at least 10 employees and various subcontractors.
- experience in systems engineering for accelerator control systems.
- experience in defining and executing software configuration management.
- experience in writing and reviewing requirement specifications, architectural designs, test plans and test reports.
- experience in project management, resource estimation, budget estimation and project planning.
- you communicate clearly and transparently and have excellent spoken and written knowledge of English. The ability to write technical documents is an asset.
- you are a born problem solver, who is able to achieve the results!
