As a Mechanical Testing Engineer, you are responsible for the development, implementation, and quality monitoring of test methods within our laboratories, for both non-active and radioactive materials. You help translate theoretical material questions into practical test setups and ensure our labs continue to meet the highest standards and accreditations.
Your responsibilities
• Develop and optimize mechanical test methods for current and future projects.
• Adapt technology for application in hot cell environments.
• Creatively translate project ideas into executable tests that meet customer needs.
• Practical development of new test setups and support for internal and external research projects.
• Quality monitoring of accredited laboratories, including documentation management, audit preparation, and calibration planning.
• Active follow-up of standards (ISO, ASTM) and implementation of methods that meet accreditation requirements.
• Coordination of interventions and modifications in hot cells for mechanical testing.
Job requirements
• Master’s or industrial engineering degree in materials science or mechanics.
• Experience with mechanical testing and method development.
• Knowledge of quality standards and accreditation processes (ISO, ASTM) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communicative, independent, and precise.
• Experience in a nuclear environment is an asset.
