Job description
As nuclear-safety and security engineer you will:
- Be in charge to define/facilitate/review nuclear safety strategies for radiological risk reduction, according to the MINERVA radiation safety approach and in collaboration with the design teams
- Contributing to the definition of a safety management plan of the installation during operation
- Contributing to the definition of the Operational Limits and Conditions (OLCs) for the radiation safety relevant systems and components (safety system settings, margin to safety limits)
- Contributing in setting up radiation safety requirements for commissioning tests of SSCI2S
- Contributing to the development operational procedures for personnel specific to the MINERVA installation and ensuring the safe operation of the installation
- Supporting the licensing process and safety demonstration of the MINERVA installation, and in particular the draw up of the Safety Assessment Report (SAR) to get the license for the operation of the installation
- Coordinating shielding analyses in support of the advanced design and commissioning of the MINERVA installation: defining priorities, reviewing results, and identifying actual needs for new assessments
- Follow-up the implementation of the radiation safety functional requirements in the design
- Critically reviews design documentation, specifications, test-, inspection- and commissioning plans of SSCs important to safety, in the context of radiological safety, interacting with the Design Engineer and Primary Systems on safety related topics
- Classifies the Nuclear Facilities safety components together with each Discipline owner according to the MINERVA safety classes, defining safety requirements associated to the safety class
Job requirements
- Master in Nuclear Engineering or Nuclear Safety with minimum 5-years experience in Radiation Safety
- Experience with commissioning of nuclear installations, specific accelerator experience is a plus
- Hands on experience in shielding calculation tools as MicroShield is a plus
- Experience with writing technical documentation
- Project management
