Job description
As a Project & Maintenance Engineer at SCK CEN, you will be responsible for all engineering and maintenance activities within a GMP environment.
Your role will encompass leading projects from conception through to execution, as well as ensuring the technical management and maintenance of the radiopharmaceutical installations.
Lead projects related to the CRF facility:
- Direct the development and the construction of nuclear waste storage systems and buildings
During the operational phase of the CRF:
- Oversee engineering and maintenance activities within the facility, focusing on areas that require adherence to GMP standards.
- Develop maintenance programs for the nuclear and GMP installations
- Serve as point of contact for technical support and troubleshooting
- Serve as the essential link between internal/external maintenance services and the CRF operations, complementing existing services with specialized expertise in GMP/pharma-related maintenance.
- Coordinate collaboration between various services during installation and maintenance activities
- Lead engineering projects related to GMP activities, including modifications to cleanrooms and other critical environments.
Manage new initiatives:
- Oversee new initiatives related to radiopharmaceuticals on our premises. Your role will involve coordinating efforts and ensuring that these projects align with our overall operational goals and standards.
Job requirements
- Master’s degree in (industrial) Engineering: Electromechanical, Mechanical, Electrical or a related field
- Knowledge of AREI, Machine Directive and the ability to read technical drawings and diagrams (electrical, pneumatic, mechanical)
- Knowledge of GMP guidelines and computerized maintenance management systems are an asset
- A structured working approach to set up, develop and follow up projects, with a hands-on mentality
- Experience in managing external contractors and coordinating with various stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage and oversee engineering and maintenance operations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with both internal teams and external partners
- Willingness to operate in nuclear controlled areas and adhere to strict safety and quality protocols
