Job description

As radiological risk manager you will:

•    Be in charge to define/facilitate/review nuclear safety strategies for radiological risk reduction, according to the MINERVA radiation safety approach and in collaboration with the design teams
•    Derive safety requirements for the implementation of the safety features in the design, according to the MINERVA Technical Risk framework, SCK CEN standard procedures for safety at the workplace, relevant codes & standards for functional safety and machinery protection.
•    Implement necessary procedures and instructions in the frame of the MINERVA Radiation Protection & Safety process. 
•    Accompany project engineers in implementing safety requirements in the design.
•    Review/Implement test procedure and acceptance criteria for structures, systems and components important to safety, in preparation for construction & commissioning.
•    Train project engineers on the MINERVA Radiation Protection & Safety process.
•    Draw-up licensing documents for the Belgian nuclear regulator

Job requirements

•    Master in Nuclear Engineering sector with minimum 5-years experience as safety engineer
•    Expertise in the application of codes and standards on functional and machinery safety       ( IEC 61508, ISO 13849-1…), knowledge of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and relevant nuclear safety standards (IAEA, DOE) is a plus. 
•    Experience with design, construction, commissioning and inspection of SSCs important to safety
•    Experience with writing technical documentation 
•    Fluency in English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
