Serena Bourdignon finishing PhD
The manuscript of Serena's PhD entitled 'From Stress to Recovery: Molecular and miRNA mediated regulation of Gamma Irradiation responses in Rice' deals the unraveling the molecular mechanisms and rice responses to acute gamma irradiation, with particular emphasis on transcriptional regulation, recovery-associated processes, and miRNA-mediated stress responses. In addition, it developed and optimized molecular tools that facilitate functional genomic studies in rice and support future investigations of stress-regulatory pathways. the manuscript will be sent to the jury 14th of September, the internal defence is planned in October and the public defence half December. To enable Serena Bourdignon to finish her PhD process, namely prepare for both the internal and public defence, and to address any comments that could rise during the defence or the evaluation of the Jury, we would like to foresee access to her laptop, SCK CEN mail and all the large data files that are on Alexandria and on the SCK CEN servers. In addition, Serena could contribute to finishing the submission of 2 or 3 papers that will still come out of her work. Therefore, we foresee a scientific volunteer position for Serena from 01/10/2026-18/12/2026
