Systems & Engineering Design Coordinator - Lead Engineer
Job description
In this role, you support the LEANDREA nuclear engineering project through a systems engineering driven design approach. You ensure strong alignment between requirements, design activities, contractor deliverables, and safety expectations across the full project lifecycle. You collaborate closely with Quality, Management, Licensing, Safety, R&D, Reactor Physics, and other key stakeholders to maintain overall technical integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Coordination Engineer
- responsible for the overall system architecture and system decomposition
- define which systems and subsystems are required
- define and manage interfaces between systems
- ensure architectural consistency across all systems, maintain the system architecture and ensure alignment with project requirements
- responsible for the coherence of the overall system architecture
- guide and technically supervise the System Owners
- Engineering Design Process
- develop and maintain an engineering design process aligned with systems engineering principles
- manage the appropriate Level of Detail (LoD) per project phase and risk profile, ensuring progressive refinement
- maintain a coherent, up to date set of engineering documents
- support change control, configuration management, and overall design consistency
- Requirements Management for Design & Safety
- create and manage system, design, and safety requirements in Polarion
- ensure bidirectional traceability between requirements, design elements, and V&V activities
- align design evolution with safety expectations and analyses
- act as the engineering focal point for Safety Integration, ensuring effective information flow.
Job requirements
- Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences
- project management certifications (PRINCE2, PMI/PMBOK) are an asset
- minimum of 3 years’ experience in project engineering, systems integration, or contractor management
- proficiency with Polarion
- experience in regulated environments or interactions with regulators is preferred
- strong technical understanding of civil/industrial engineering and ability to perform technical reviews
- familiarity with stage‑gate project lifecycle management
- high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ownership of tasks and processes
- effective stakeholder alignment through active listening
- proactive, solution‑oriented mindset and adaptability in multidisciplinary environments.
